Thank you Mark!!
, Nov 2021
I don't think I can say enough good things about this tour. I really enjoyed how long it was and how much history Mark had to offer. It was nice to have choices at most of the places we stopped at and I enjoyed Mark's recommendations of what to get. Do this tour!
Mark knows what he is talking about

Mark was knowledgeable warm and friendly. He knew the neighborhood and the food he was teaching us about.
Open up to the Mission District Experience
, Oct 2021
Mark brought a wealth of information to the tour as a member of a long-time San Franciscan family. Interesting facts and history at every turn. …and then, the food! Delicious variety enriched with Mark’s experience in the culinary arts. After years of being in and out of San Francisco, I have a whole new level of appreciation for the culture, history, diversity…and flavors.
Can’t miss tour.

This tour went above and beyond my expectations. Mark is a fourth generation San Franciscan who intimately knows both the neighborhood and cuisines. The tour involved an in-depth tour and history of murals in the Mission district in addition to culinary culture and samples. You will have left overs bring a bag

This tour was not for me... this is why..
, Sep 2021
Ugh... I really don't like rating a tour so low but I have taken many food tours and this one I had to leave half way through it, it was just not for me..... however... that does not mean it might not be great for someone else! So here are my thoughts. The AREA: So I should have done my research a little better on the area we were going to. The Mission area is a very bad area I feel. I would not have felt safe there alone at all. When the Uber dropped us off, I actually didn't want to get out. It is 90% Hispanic so just not knowing Spanish I felt nervous. You have people all over the street trying to sell stuff, from dolls to paper towels. Just felt like a very very low income, unsafe area to be in. Again, I would have NEVER have done this tour if I would have known the area was like this (so I do take some blame in having a bad experience by not doing my homework first) The Food: We were 90 minutes in and all we had was a burrito, that honestly tasted like one I get in Hawaii, nothing special and a pastry. Food tour? Where was the food? Maybe it was the next 90 minutes of the tour but like I said, I left halfway through. This is an OLD area so even the places to eat look run down and very old. Pretty much all I saw to eat was Mexican food, no variety and nothing special. So why did I leave? Honestly it was the area was just bad. If we didn't see the beautiful murals along the way, I might have left even earlier than I did. But there is only so much of the same thing.. mural, mural, mural, mural that you can take and then no food. So why stay? Mark: Mark was our tour guide and I do feel he loves the area so if you fancy yourself wanting to go to an area like this to have a burrito, he would be the man for you to have with you.

Tamale lady story is awesome
, Aug 2021
All the stories about the mural and what it represents. Eye opening for me on the history of SF. Burrito is good. Wish the tour guide would honor the alcohol as it says on the ticket.

When I bought the package, it said alcohol beverages was included which it wasn’t. I was very disappointed. Our guide was great but I wish we had more stops for food tasting and that wasn’t the case.
