The greatest story was the last owner this is Stewart willed the plantation to a non profit . To me that was amazing so that yours could be given . It would nice if we could see more of the house or the plantation

An Experience

My experience with the actual tour was very nice. The reason why I did not provide a 5 star, the bus ride to the plantation was awful, there were no rear shocks. We felt every bump, pothole, you name it. Also, it was hard learning about how my ancestors endured the pain and suffering without payment or freedom for years and how this Roman/Stewart family profited from their pain, at the same time it was somewhat rewarding knowing how each of those families endured their own pain with death and financial losses

Very enjoyable excursion

This was a great little excursion. Our bus driver, KP, was great - very personable, interesting stories, and a great example of southern hospitality. Oak Alley House tour was very interesting and captivating. Thank you for the great time during our visit to New Orleans!

Nice, comfortable ride on...

Nice, comfortable ride on the way going to and from the plantation. Lots of information given on the tour of the house. It was nice that we were able to explore the grounds on our own.

They glitz up the experience but leave out reality

It was just ok for me. I wish they would have gone into more historic details about the treatment of the slaves so people could get a realistic view of what people went through during that time. It's more glitz and glamor if you ask me.

Beautiful plantation - not the greatest time management

The tour was nice and the Oak Alley Plantation was beautiful. However, my biggest complaint was the logistics -- the bus picked us up 45+ minutes late (without any explanation why), plus at the last hotel pickup, the driver spent another few minutes going to the bathroom. So we had a really late start, in turn, we didn't have much time to enjoy the Plantation grounds because (1) passenger needed to get back for another tour. We had about 15-20 minutes before our inside tour started and maybe another 15 minutes afterwards. We didn't have much time to go to the gift shop, roam the plantation grounds and/or to see inside the slave homes, as I believe there are tours for those which we could not do because we had to leave. Although the Plantation home was beautiful, we really wanted to see how the slaves lived too. Only one slave home was open, the others were part of the tour. Overall, I felt that our time was extremely limited and felt very rushed, unfortunately ruining the experience.

Bumpy ride

The bus getting to the plantation is the most uncomfortable ride. The driver was really nice but the ride was horrible. A couple of times I felt nauseated from the super bumpy ride.

The upkeep of Oak Alley Plantation is amazing. Beautiful grounds. We appreciate the tour from our tour guide. I also enjoyed the cute, tiny little swamp lizards that came out to say hello. Thank you. Kelsey H KH God is love❤️

Great tour, feelings of sadness.

Seeing the slave quarters was very moving, it made me angry and sad that humans could own other humans. Especially since some were their flesh and blood. The property was beautiful and the tour was great.

Puck up 1.5 hours late, then got puncture, very disorganised to deal with this. Took hours by which time we were brought back to New Orleans missed tour and my afternoon was also ruined. Last day of my holiday ruined by this company!

Great to learn more about the Deep South’s sugar cane plantation & slaves practices. Driver KP was friendly and informative - despite his (fast) speed on the way back to downtown New Orleans (for his afternoon tour and we had a full car).
