Admire the nocturnal nature of the city’s cultural hub, where enchanting nightlife mingles with what lurks in the shadows.

Enjoy a stop at one of the city's legendary haunted bars, where you can indulge in a drink or two (at your own expense) in the company of fellow travelers and supernatural buffs.

Between stops, hear other creepy stories that have appeared on the History Channel and Discovery Channel. By the end of this chilling tour, understand why New Orleans is often called the most haunted city in America.

Your tour returns to the starting point in the French Quarter.

The most notorious alley in all America where pirates sold their contraband and killed their enemies and all right next to a Catholic Cathedral! Legend says that if you begin drinking in Pirate's Alley and make your way to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, the ghost of Jean Lafitte will greet you when you get there. Many a visitor has witnessed the apparitions of pirates running in the alley then disappearing late in the evening.
Pass By:
Pirate's Alley Cafe
Most of our guides end their ghost tour near this iconic bar in Pirate's Alley. Stop in and try an absynthe, dubbed The Green Fairy for it's hauntingly green appearance. This famous pub was a popular hangout for Aleistar Crowley in the early 1900s as well as an entire culture of vampire lifestylers in the 1990s.

Super fun and interesting

I love history, and especially spooky history! So this experience was so fun and interesting to me. Our tour guide had a great personality, and really brought the ghost stories to life with her elaborate story telling. We walked to places in the city that we probably would not have walked hadn’t it been for this experience, and I’m so glad we were able to see those areas in a safe and fun atmosphere. And the two for one hurricanes, let me tell you they will truly get you in the spirit :D

The tour guide Ariadne Blayde was absolutely phenomenal. She had a lot of knowledge and energy and wove in personal stories and experiences from her time in New Orleans and her tours.

Probably the most mediocre ghost tour we have been on. I think we only hit 4 spots. We walked right by a lot of other tours that we stopped. Mostly we just walked a lot.

Early departure chaos
Steph_S
, May 2022
The tour guide was great and so informative. We were there early to check in, 20 minutes early. We went to the bar that offered drink specials for tour participants. At 750 one of our party came in and said the tour had just left, getting started early. I’m not sure why that was necessary to do, we had to sprint to the first stop despite us arriving on time and early, as suggested. If we had been keeping the group or late, I understand the tour leaving, but to arbitrarily leave before the publicized tour time was a downer. would book with another agency.

Thank you for your review. Please allow me to clear up a misconception here. Haunted History Tours is a very very popular tour company. We attract many people to our tours. We also have several tour guides. When the groups get large and the sidewalks become crowded, we simply give people the option to leave early if they are ready. We do not just simply send a tour out before it’s publicized time. We send several groups out so that everyone can hear and appreciate the experience. Your group did not have to leave 10 minutes prior to our publicized departure time. If people are not ready to leave early then they have the option to stay until we send our last group out at the publicized departure time.

Aria was the best guide through the quarter. Shes one of the best storytellers we have heard, and she makes sure to give as much history as she does ghost stories. I cannot recommend this tour or this guide enough.

History and Ghosts Stories

Excellent narration by Toast, who brought the stories to life with some drama and some humor. Go for the history, and don't expect a ghost hunting tour and you'll be fine.

The history of the locations was interesting. The tour did talk about some gruesome events but kept it in a historical perspective.

The tour was absolutely amazing! My husband and myself really enjoyed hearing all of the stories! That was until the tour stopped in front of the hotel we were staying at… we had no clue that we were actually staying in a haunted hotel… And yes, we experienced the hauntings first hand.
