Patrick’s Bar Vin , 730 Bienville St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA

We meet inside Patrick's Bar Vin, located at 730 Bienville St, New Orleans

5:00 PM
Bourbon 'O' Bar , 730 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70116, USA

We typically end the tour at the Bourbon "O" Jazz Bar, located at 730 Bourbon St.

Your night of cultured imbibing begins as evening arrives in the French Quarter. Head to Tiki Tolteca to meet your lively guide and start your tour with a cocktail in the restaurant’s intimate courtyard. Sip on a southern classic, such as a French 75 or a Mint Julep, as you get an intriguing introduction to New Orleans drinking culture. Pace yourself, as your tour includes four cocktails at four different venues – and more at your own expense.

Your second visit will be to SoBou, a local favorite that’s part of the acclaimed Commander’s Palace family. There, try one of two versions of the classic Sazerac, a recipe attributed to a Creole apothecary in the 19th Century – when cocktails constituted medicine! Next, travel along Royal Street to the hippest new addition to the NOLA drinking scene: Peychaud's Bar in the Maison de Ville Hotel, where you will have a choice between two delicious, historical cocktails.

Your final stop is at Bourbon “O” Jazz Bar to sample the obscure yet beloved Roffignac cocktail, a nod to the city’s last French‐born mayor.  If you’re in need of some tasty nibbles, stay on (where you tour ends) or head to the hip Faubourg‐Marigny quarter nearby.

Along the way, learn fascinating histories including the controversy around absinthe, and the cocktail‐related tales of (unexpected) venues such as the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and Napoleon House.

Please note: Some bars have a dress code. Men are discouraged from wearing tank tops.

Expect to walk about one mile during your 3-hour tour in a friendly social atmosphere inspired by your entertaining guide. Four cocktails are included, one at each stop. Your tour ends at the Bourbon "O" Bar, which features nightly live jazz at 8pm as well as a limited food menu. Or you can move on to explore the lively nightlife of nearby Frenchmen Street on your own (or with your new friends!).

We had a blast! Would definitely recommend! Beth was our guide and did an excellent job. We started at Patrick’s Bar Vin and got to see a NOLA Wedding Parade as well as meet the wonderful bar owner, Patrick. The other stops were short walks around the French Quarter. By the time we ended up at the Bourbon O Bar, our group had become fast friends! We all got a bite to eat and then went dancing for the night! I would recommend eating before you go, since you will have 4 cocktails on the tour and by the end we all we hungry. They had small bites at the last bar which was wonderful. We ran into Beth the next day and she actually knew our names! What a great way to meet new friends and see the French Quarter!

The food was great and our guide was wonderful. I wish we could have gotten just a bit more about the history and architecture.

Hi Kim! Thanks for the (mostly) positive review but I'm not sure if this was the tour you were on. You're reviewing our Cocktail History Tour but you're talking about food and architecture, neither of which are featured on this tour. Anyway, hope you had fun in New Orleans on whichever tour you happened to be on! :) Dylan Owner, Doctor Gumbo Tours
