Hi there Steve, Thank you for the awesome review and we are glad that you enjoyed your safari with us to the Piulanebserg. We are looking forward to having you back on safari with us in the near future.
If you only have a day or limited time in Joburg, do this tour!

The most memorable part of the tour was the herd of elephants walking pass. It was AMAZING being in such close proximity, but out of their way. I would definitely do this tour again, for a one day safari experience. Our guides Joe and Alex were great! They were knowledgeable and very pleasant. Joe was very funny on the tour. They definitely made it a very fun experience.

Hi there Melanie, Thank you for the amazing review, glad that you enjoyed the safari with Joe and Alex. We do pride ourselves in being the best safari and day tour operator in Johannesburg. So when are you booking the next safari?

Amazing, the park was beautiful. Keep in mind that you are not guaranteed to see all of the animals you want to, this is not a zoo. Driving around in the open vehicle with the nice breeze itself was great. The tour guides, Alex and Buffalo Soldier, were very knowledgeable and knew where to go in the park at what times to maximize the chances of seeing the most amount of animals.

Good Day Jacob, Thank you for your amazing review, it is greatly appreciated. We are glad that you enjoyed your safari with us and that our guides lived up to your expectations. The reserve is certainly not a zoo and is exhilarating when you find the animals. Looking forward to hearing from you in the future. Travel safe and keep safe.
Poor response time

We had booked for a one day safari tour with this tour operator through Viator. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to go for the tour. We wrote in and called the tour operator to inform them on the above and we understand verbally that we will be able to utilized the paid fee for the safari tour on another date. Thereafter we wrote in twice to follow up on the status of the open ticket for the paid amount but till-to-date, after 4 days, we have yet to hear from the tour operator. It is quite a let down given that we had duly informed them about the tour cancellation prior to the tour date. Hope the tour operator would get back to us in no time.

Too long for too little

The guide was nice, the pick up/drop off times was within their window. I personally can’t blame the tour company for the lack of wildlife. There’s a full disclaimer that you may not see all of the Big 5. It was briefed to us upon arrival that the lions don’t come out in the heat and only show up early morning and/or late evening. Keep in mind the tour is from 0900-1500. Driving around for 6 hours becomes boring after awhile and seeing the SAME animals. This tour should really end at noon directly after lunch. All the animals we seen from 9-12 we seen from 1-3 as well. This tour isn’t a must see in my honest opinion. Aware each experience is different and this was mine.
Actually the content was different

In the morning the vehicle safari drive was good. In the afternoon it was not a vehicle safari drive. I was wondering why the morning guide would be over and a different guide, but no one was there. We were guided by a pick-up car from the hotel and its driver. I was expecting a vehicle safari drive. Another group on the same day was a vehicle safari drive with the same guide in the morning and afternoon. Why is this difference? I don't understand. I want half my money back if possible. When you apply for this tour, make sure you have a one-day vehicle safari drive.

A wonderful time was had by my wife and I during the safari. It was worth the time and money. We saw 4 of 5 of the Big Five, including a leopard. The highlight of the tour was our vehicle being chased by an elephant. Yes it really did happen!!!!

It was most amazing tour we have ever done. Seen animals in their own habitat rather than zoo. Our toue guides were very knowledgeable. We learn a lot about different types of animals. Highly recommended.
A fantastic day with only one downside

This day was truly spectacular from start to finish. We were spoilt with animal sightings which were breathtaking and were led by a knowledgeable tour guide; however, in the afternoon we broke down with a tyre puncture in the middle of the bush. Unfortunately and inexplicably, the driver did not have a radio/intercom system in the vehicle and was unable to change the vehicle tyre. The driver had to temporarily abandon us in the bush to seek help. Thankfully he returned with another vehicle and was able to get us safely back to base. However, we did have sympathy for him. The vehicle provided was unfit for purpose and this issue needs to be addressed. I understand that companies have a profit to make but this should not come at the expense of the safety of tourists. This incident aside, the day was incredible with the added experience of being stranded in the bush temporarily...more than we bargained for!
Great idea for a day trip!

Highly recommend this day trip. The park guides were lovely and funny! Pick up was a bit late but overall things ran on time. Note this has the CLOSED (minibus) option in the afternoon. To receive the OPEN (game viewer) option in the evening, you will need to pay 300 rand which is fine but kinda strange the way the driver calls you out in the middle of the group. This could have been handled more professionally.
