The Basics

The River Walk has a lively vibe throughout the day and draws large crowds in the evenings; dinner reservations are recommended or you may find yourself waiting a while. A great way to experience the River Walk—other than on foot—is by taking a 35-minute boat tour, featuring entertaining stories about the San Antonio River’s rich history. You can combine the boat ride with a hop-on, hop-off bus or trolley tour, and consider adding a stop at the Tower of the Americas or the Battle for Texas Show as well.

San Antonio Boat and Bus

San Antonio River Walk Cruise and Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour
The historical boat tour was fascinating. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered questions easily. We learned a lot and the boat was comfortable. We were on two different buses. One was ideal with a pleasant driver. The other driver was loud and crude. We did not stay on that bus too long. All in all we enjoyed the experience.

Excellent boat captain! Full of useful info with some humour thrown in. Great photo opportunities and she allowed us a few minutes to get just the right pic to send back to the UK

San Antonio River Walk Cruise, Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour & Tower of Americas
Great way to get around and to get a feel for the city. We were here on a Monday and unfortunately a lot is closed but we still enjoyed the ride on the bus. Our boat driver was full of information! The Tower of the America's was a great view and the 4-D film was fun. Highly recommend the 3 activity combo!

Great first day in town way to see some of the highlights and learn some of the history of San Antonio when visiting for just a few days. The bus driver/guide provided insightful info about the city - past, present and future. Towers of the America's admission was included with ticket package (get your camera ready for the elevator ride) as well as a ticket for the must-do boat tour on the iconic San Antonio River Walk.
