The Basics

Tickets to the Karen Blixen Museum include a docent-led tour that lasts roughly 30 minutes, but it’s worth lingering for a walk around the scenic grounds. Since the Karen Blixen Museum is located near several top Nairobi attractions—including the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the Giraffe Centre, the Kazuri Beads Factory, and Bomas of Kenya—many tours combine two or more of the destinations to save time in transit.

The tour of Nairobi Park was amazing, and the host had an amazing way of helping me hunt for the best photos, in the safety of his SUV. I learned alot from my host about safari and Kenya on general.

Karen Blixen Nairobi Museum Tour
We were picked up promptly by a lovely guide called Rodgers who was helpful and informative. The guide at Karen Blixen's house was also delightful. We enjoyed our morning there.

Day Tour at Nairobi National Park elephant orphanage, giraffe cent karen museum
Wonderful, wonderful experience ! How fortunate was I to book this! In the centre of Nairobi , 100 km of land devoted to the preservation of wildlife ( I’m talking giraffes, zebras, lions etc) and I witnessed it all. I must say our guide went far beyond his services by assuring we were in close proximity to all these beautiful animals........ they were great guides too !

Day Tour at Nairobi National Park elephant orphanage, giraffe cent karen museum
This tour was my introduction to African animals prior to doing an overland tour. I was blown away by the animals and how close you could get to them in all locations. The elephant orphanage was fabulous and the baby elephants were very cheeky - spraying muddy water everywhere even over the spectators! I skipped the Karen Blixen Museum in favour of Bomas of Kenya which I loved. Those who went to the museum were not too impressed so I was glad I chose Bomas!

Out of Africa Tour: Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum from Nairobi
We thoroughly enjoyed both the Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum Tour while in Nairobi. In addition to seeing these attractions, it also gave us the opportunity to something of the beautiful suburbs of Nairobi. The Viator provided guide/driver was very professional and the van clean and well maintained. It was fun to try to feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, but be prepared for giraffe saliva on your clothes. The guide at the Giraffe Centre was a bit assertive with regard to suggesting that we tip him just as we started the tour. We took the afternoon tour so we could do the elephant orphanage tour in the morning which we arranged separately with a taxi driver. This worked well for us, but be prepared for sitting in some traffic....just like rush hour in the USA.

Day Tour at Nairobi National Park elephant orphanage, giraffe cent karen museum
This was such a fun day! I enjoyed the Giraffe Center and Elephant Orphanage the most. You get to see a lot of major sights in Nairobi in a short period of time, which was great! Also, our driver/tour guide was incredible -- he was extremely accommodating. He also assisted with getting to my final destination on time. I would highly recommend this tour!

If you want a safari tour with a personal touch, then this is the tour for you!! Onesmus is an excellent tour guide that will definitely make your trip a wonderful and memorable experience. He is good at what he does, and he is very friendly and personable. By the end of the tour, I felt as though I was departing from a close friend. I would book this tour with Onesmus 10 times over...it was that enjoyable!!
