Adventure travelers and nature enthusiasts come for Cumbuco Beach for its array of outdoor adventures. While swimming and sunning are always options, visitors can also take a buggy ride through the dunes, try windsurfing or kitesurfing, ride a jet ski or banana boat, take a horseback ride on the beach, or cruise in a traditional fishing boat. Most day trips from Fortaleza include roundtrip transportation to the beach, as well as several hours of free time to pursue whichever activities are of most interest.

How to get there
Cumbuco is 23 miles (37 km) west of Fortaleza. Follow the signs for CE-090 if you’re driving. The most convenient way to get there is to join a guided excursion from Fortaleza that includes round-trip transportation.

When to get there
With an average temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celcius) throughout the year, there isn’t really a bad time for a day at this sunny beach. The beach fills up with locals on weekends but there is little to do in Cumbuco at night—you’ll need to return to the city if you want to party.
