Shakaland offers cultural tours and two daily tours known as the Nandi Experience. Throughout the tours, you can learn about the village’s namesake King Shaka Zulu, take part in traditional workshops, sample food and beer, and enjoy tribal performances.xa0
If you are visiting from Durban, the village’s out-of-the-way location and complex cultural intricacies make it best to visit with transportation and a guide to help interpret the sights and traditions. Plus, your guide can share the backstory of the village—it was originally created as the set for a TV show.
