Definitely a highlight of our family visit to South Africa. Highly recommend Vusi, our guide, his knowledge, good nature and perseverance at finding the big 5 was outstanding.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Safari & St Lucia Boat Safari Day Tour from Durban
We were picked up and returned to the ship by an easy to spot zebra colored van. The pleasant guide, Vuzi was from the area and knowledgeable. We saw rhinos, hippos, birds, zebras, impalas. We were told in advance that the animals do not always cooperate and show their faces. I was happy to see this alluring country and some of it's beautiful creatures. My sister thought the St. Lucia Boat ride was boring, but I enjoyed the leisurely trip down the river.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Safari & Emdoneni Wild Cat Project Day Tour
This is a very exiting tour. My guide, Vusi Gumede, was very knowledgable and was able to provide information about the different animals but also about the culture. The cat project is also very interesting. I can highly recommended!

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Safari & St Lucia Boat Safari Day Tour from Durban
What a beautiful country! We had an enjoyable boat trip on the river but it was difficult to hear what was being said. Perhaps changing our seating would have helped. We also feel that more could have been pointed out by the guide on the boat. I believe the guide pointed out just hippos, yellow weavers and their nests, a Fish Eagle and the mangroves. There were other smaller birds but one would assume they were harder for the whole boat to have located in the moment. The Hluhluwe Imfolozi Safari was another matter. Vusi, our guide, had great eyes and knowledge regarding what we were seeing. He seemed to be as excited as we were to see the creatures we spotted. 1st Zulu Safaris were extremely responsive with emails prior to our arrival.
