2-Day and 1 night Mikumi Safari Game Drive

Special Offer

2-Day and 1 night Mikumi Safari Game Drive

The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centrepiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Lions survey their grassy kingdom – and the zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo herds that migrate across it – from the flattened tops of termite mounds, or sometimes, during the rains, from perches high in the trees. Giraffes forage in the isolated acacia stands that fringe the Mkata River

Bagamoyo day trip tour

Bagamoyo day trip tour

Strolling through Bagamoyo’s narrow, unpaved streets takes you back to the mid-19th century, when the town was one of the most important settlements along the East African coast and the terminus of the trade caravan route linking Lake Tanganyika with the sea. Slaves, ivory, salt and copra were unloaded here before being shipped to Zanzibar Island and elsewhere, and many European explorers, including Richard Burton, Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone, began and ended their trips here. In 1868 French missionaries established Freedom Village at Bagamoyo as a shelter for ransomed slaves, and for the remainder of the century the town served as a way station for missionaries travelling from Zanzibar Island to the interior.

Tanzania Cultural Excursions

Tanzania Cultural Excursions

Home to approximately 120 tribal groups, most of these comprise small communities that are gradually being assimilated into the larger population due to changes in land use and the economic draw of city life. Pastoralists who fiercely guard their culture and traditions, Masaai tribal life revolves around protecting and caring for their herds of cattle and finding ample grazing land in their region. The 'Spice Islands' of the Zanzibar Archipelago, Pemba, Mafia, and the entire Tanzanian coast is home to the Swahili people, a vibrant mix of Arab, Indian and Bantu origins who historically based their livelihoods around Indian Ocean trade. The Swahili Coast, as the region is called, is a predominantly Islamic region with old mosques and coral palaces found throughout the area. Swahili culture centres around the dhow, a wooden sailing boat powered by the seasonal wind.

Amboni Caves - 2 Days

Amboni Caves - 2 Days

Amboni, have been associated with fascinating stories of a deity residing in the caves where traditional rites are still continuing to be held up to the present time. Ethnic groups such as the Segeju, Sambaa, Bondei and Digo who lived near the caves used it for prayers. There are chambers treated as sacred chambers for worshipping some spirits. One of them is called “Mzimu wa Mabuvu”. Some believe that there is a powerful deity which can alleviate their sickness, sufferings or increase their fertility. This is where Osale Otanga, the person who gave colonialists a hard time lived. The caverns are associated with dazzling stories. One cavern was allegedly used as a hideout by a famous Pre-Uhuru pair of Robin Hoods in the 1950s Mau Mau insurrection. The cave attracts tourist as well as students for their geography lessons.

 Dar es Salaam City Tours

Dar es Salaam City Tours

Very interesting city tour of Dar es Salaam 5/5 We are a swedish couple who 19/7 attended a day-tour of Dar es Salaam. Our guide Patrick is very knowledgable about all things Tanzanian. The tour let us experience the more "common" sights like the Fishmarket and Village-museum but also took us outside of the beaten path to other areas and neighborhoods around town . That gave us a rather unique cultural experience. It was obvious that our guide went to great lengths to make us experience a taste of the "real" Dar es Salaam. On comparison with other companies this full-day-tour was delivered at a very good price and offered excellent value for money. All in all we can recommend Nodven Tour with Patrick as a guide as a very entertaingi and enlightening way to spend a day in Dar es Salaam
